On December 23-24, 2021 a regular meeting of the Joint Commission of Tajikistan and Turkey on consideration of issues related to international road transport was held in Dushanbe.
The Turkish delegation was received by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan - Azim Ibrоhim, who welcomed the guests.
During the meeting the delegations of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in international road transport, issues related to permits for international road transport, exchange of experience in implementing digital technologies and other issues discussed and reviewed.
It was highlighted, that aaccording to statistics data, despite the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the transportation of goods was increase between the two countries, which is 119% than in 2020.
Considering to this, the parties agreed to take the necessary measures to use trade potential and increase trade turnover between Tajikistan and Turkey, further expand cooperation and establish a system of multimodal transportation, as well as the opening of transport corridors.
At the same time, in the framework of the meeting of the Commission the draft Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on the international combined transport of goods was considered and its final text was paraphrased by the heads of delegations.
