On May 12-13, 2021 in accordance with the Main Action Plan of the presidency of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2021, at the initiative of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan in Dushanbe held the third meeting of the Joint Commission on SCO Agreement. International automobile transport was held.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan.
Representatives of the Secretariat of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) were also invited to attend the event in order to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with specialized agencies of the United Nations.
During the meeting, the Commission discussed the implementation of the Protocol of the second meeting, issues related to the implementation of the Agreement, the status and readiness of international road routes, the list of which is approved by Annex №1 of the Agreement, the work schedule of border checkpoints they were reviewed and discussed.
At the same time, in order to create favorable conditions for carriers through the territory of the SCO member states, the parties discussed the issues of recognition of driver's licenses, visa issuance, simplification of international transportation, development of transport corridors and current mechanisms of the Pandemic. discussed
As a result, in order to create favorable conditions for international road transport, representatives of the SCO member states to introduce the use of a single form of permits in the member countries, to take the necessary measures to develop existing transport corridors and open new international corridors. e-arrangement of the necessary documents, including the issuance of visas for drivers, a reduction in the amount of payment for a visa was agreed, and the relevant protocol was signed.
