The Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Azim Ibrahim on September 18 this year had a meeting with the delegation of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the First Deputy Minister I. Mahkamov.

During the meeting the sides discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of transport and road and exchanged views for further expansion of cooperation.

Azim Ibrahim began his speech with the friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and expressed confidence in further strengthening cooperation and friendship.

The issues of uninterrupted transportation of cargo and passengers between the two friendly and brotherly countries have been considered at the meeting. In particular, the issues of increasing freight traffic between the two countries, cooperation in the field of railways and the opening of new routes on highways were also discussed by the parties.

The Minister stated that it is clear that the situation in recent months, the expansion of pandemics around the world has once again forced us to believe that road transport has a special place in the economic and social development of any country. In this regard, we should make even greater efforts to expand cooperation in this area.

The parties made constructive suggestions and requests for the development of cooperation.
